How the Sabadell Account maintenance fee works

The maintenance fee can go from € 240/year (€ 60/quarter) to be reduced to € 0 depending on the connection you have.

Your fee will be €0 if you...

Meet one of the following requirements:

- You are between 18 and 29 years old.

- You have contracted with Banco Sabadell or you have been sold through it one of these three options:

  • A mortgage, a personal loan or credit or a renting contract and, in addition, a free or combined insurance policy.
  • 3 insurance plans.
  • You are the holder of a mutual fund or an individual pension plan or an individual insured or social security plan, with an average monthly balance of more than €25,000.


Your fee will be €10 per quarter if you...

Meet one of the following requirements:

- You have 2 insurance policies.

- You are the holder of a mutual fund or an individual pension plan or an individual insured or social security plan, with an average monthly balance of more than €10,000.


Your fee will be €20 per quarter if you...

Meet one of the following requirements:

- You are the holder of an investment fund or an individual pension plan or an individual insured or social security plan at Banco Sabadell (or you have been sold one through it), with an average monthly balance of between €3,000 and €10,000.

- You have your salary or a regular income of at least €700 paid directly into the account, excluding income from accounts opened in the Banco Sabadell group in the name of the same holder, and you also meet one of these three conditions:

  • Have taken out 1 insurance policy with Banco Sabadell.
  • You have two direct debit bills for household consumption in the account.
  • You have made a minimum of two purchases per month with your credit card and charged to the Sabadell Account in the last three months.

How can I open a second account if I am already a Banco Sabadell customer?
 
Open the Banco Sabadell app , click on the menu on the right and go to the Accounts section. Then click on the + symbol to see the available accounts and their main features.

What account products can I sign up for from Banco Sabadell Online?
 
As you are already a Banco Sabadell customer and account holder, you can sign up for the Sabadell Account and the ILTSA Account from Banco Sabadell Online.
Do I have to be a Banco Sabadell account holder?
 
Yes, you can only apply for a second account if you already hold an account with Banco Sabadell.
Is there a limit to the number of holders?
 
Yes, the new account will be based on the account holders selected at the beginning of the process, but you can open it in the name of all, several, or at the very least one of the account holders. However, the ILTSA account can only have one account holder.
Do I need to have my National Identity Card (DNI) up to date in My Profile to open a second account?
 
Yes, in order to open a second account, you must have a valid and up-to-date National Identity Card (DNI) or Foreign National Identity Card (NIE) in our systems.

If you need to update your DNI or NIE, access your online banking from the Banco Sabadell website, open the drop-down menu next to your name, and go to My Profile. Next, click on My Personal Data and then on Identity Document.
Do I need to submit any documents to open a second account?
 
No, you do not need to submit any other document, but your National Identity Card (DNI) or Foreign National Identity Card (NIE) must be valid and up to date in our systems.

If you need to update your DNI or NIE, access your online banking from the Banco Sabadell website, open the drop-down menu next to your name, and go to My Profile. Next, click on My Personal Data and then on Identity Document.
¿How can I find out if the other holders have signed the contract?
 
To check the status of the contract and see if the other holders have already signed it, log in to your online banking from the Banco Sabadell website. Then go to My Profile and then to My Documents. There you can check the status of your documents: pending signatures, all my documents and shared documents.
What are the restrictions on the use of this second account?
 
The account is for personal use, and under no circumstances may be used for professional purposes.
How can I sign the contract?
 
Signing the contract is the last step in the process of opening the account. After confirming that you have read and accepted the contract, you will receive an SMS on the mobile phone number you provided at the beginning of the process, or a notification from the app, with the confirmation code that you must enter where indicated. This signature system is as valid as a handwritten signature.

Remember that a copy of the signed contract will be available in the My Profile/My Documents section of your remote banking.
Once I have signed the contract, will my new account be activated?
 
Yes, with the signature of the contract the new account will be activated and fully operational.
Can I withdraw from the contract once it has been signed?
 
Yes, you can withdraw and cancel the contract free of charge within 14 days of its taking effect without giving any reason and without a penalty.

What information will I be provided to sign up for my second account?
 
When you sign up for your new account online, you will be provided with pre-contractual information, which you can download so that you always have it on hand. The pre-contractual information contains:
  • Information document on fees.
  • Information leaflet prior to entering into a payment services framework contract.
  • Pre-contractual information in accordance with banking regulations.
  • Annex of fees and expenses applicable to transfers and cheques through the account.
What additional information do I have about signing up for a new account?

APR: -9.260%, calculated for a scenario in which an average balance of €2,500 is maintained throughout 1 year, applying an NIR of 0% and with an account administration and maintenance fee of €240/year (€60/quarter).

APR: -3.1618%, calculated for a scenario in which an average balance of €2,500 is maintained throughout 1 year, applying an NIR of 0% and with an account administration and maintenance fee of €80/year (€20/quarter).

APR: -1.590%, calculated for a scenario in which an average balance of €2,500 is maintained throughout 1 year, applying an NIR of 0% and with an account administration and maintenance fee of €40/year (€10/quarter).

APR: 0%, calculated for a scenario in which an average balance of €2,500 is maintained constantly for 1 year, applying an NIR of 0% and the account administration and maintenance fee of €0/year (€0/quarter).

In all cases, the account is settled on a quarterly basis.

3 Debit cash withdrawals using your debit card are free of charge at a wide network of ATMs: Withdraw cash by debiting your balance free of charge at Banco Sabadell ATMs in Spain using your debit card, regardless of the amount. It is also free if you withdraw an amount equal to or greater than €60 at the ATMs of the main banks belonging to the EURO 6000 network: Abanca, Ibercaja, KutxaBank, Unicaja Bank, CajaSur, Caixa Ontinyent and Colonya Caixa Pollença.

4 For a Sabadell Credit Line of €2,000 to be repaid over 12 months: 11 instalments of €183.25 and a final instalment of €183.19.

Instalments to be paid are calculated using the French repayment schedule, which has consistent instalments.

The contracting of a Sabadell Credit Line requires prior knowledge of the contractual terms and conditions. You can view the general terms and conditions of the contract at bancosabadell.com, in the financing section.

Activation of the Sabadell Credit Line requires the express or tacit acceptance of the contractual terms and conditions of all the account holders if there are several of them. The initial credit limit is shared regardless of the number of account holders, subject to monthly review on a joint and several basis. The monthly limit can go from €2,000 up to €5,000 and the repayment terms can be 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 months. Arrangement Fee: 0.00%. Assessment Fee: 0.00%. Fee for early cancellation of the credit: 0.00%.
