Handling by the bank of commercial or financial documents, in accordance with the instructions received, in order to obtain its payment or its acceptance.

1. Exports

Banco Sabadell sends your exports documents to a bank in your client's country. The documents are submitted to the buyer only when the conditions of payment stipulated by your company are strictly met.

Advantages for the seller:

• The conditions for delivery of the documents are determined by the seller
• It can be a cheaper alternative to a documentary credit
• Delivery of the documents to the buyer can be arranged as cash on delivery or against a formal acknowledgement of the debt (acceptance of a draft)
• Its handling procedures can be subject to internationally-accepted regulations issued by the International Chamber of Commerce

2. Imports

The seller's bank sends the dispatch documents directly to your Banco Sabadell branch. The documents shall be delivered to you against fulfilment of the conditions determined by the seller (cash against documents, draft acceptance, or other as specified)

• It’s a safer alternative to payment in advance
• No need for credit facilities
• If the seller does not respect the terms and conditions, the buyer can refuse payment under certain conditions
